Snail For A Day

I was gardening yesterday when I spotted this little guy on the patio. No bigger than my thumbnail and the same color as the concrete, I have no idea why i noticed him. He was so active that I watched him for a while and took some video. I saw him move that little stick without a problem.

It’s hard to explain the feeling I get from something so simple and small. Something that goes otherwise unnoticed, but today became a part of the actual world wide web. His whole life this little snail could have gone along without a person actually seeing him, but I saw him. I named him Carney.

Artists And Pincushions

If only I could be one of those people. Inspiration all around me, creative at the drop of a hat, always in a pleasant mood. Alas, I’m just a moody, fickle artist. I can’t really afford a life as a moody fickle artist since I haven’t really done anything to earn enough monetary security to seclude myself from the outside world and just drink and create. So I must work, as a waitress. It’s easier said than done, you must put on this face everyday and be fairly pleasant no matter how you really feel. Similar to being a stepford wife I assume.

I tend to romanticize the life of an artist, but I don’t know if it would be much different from my current everyday life. I would make my lists as usual, and depending on the day I would actually do the things on my list. There is no way that a person can feel creative and motivated all the time, is there? Maybe it’s just a decision, mind over matter and that type of thing. Can I really decide to be creative and motivated every single day no matter what? That’s heavy man.

Nashville And The Slip Dress

Even though I don’t like it (at all) I have been lightly watching the show Nashville. I live in Nashville (the city not the show) and I thought that I wanted to see how they were portraying our little city. I mainly just leave the show on while I am sewing or doing something that takes up part of my attention. I do not intend to watch past the first season, if there is one.

All that being said, I came home from work yesterday to find this notice on my mailbox.
